Eurydice was a complex that "called back" to itself throughout the play. Many sounds were repeated multiple times throughout the show. This recall technique was used to replicate Eurydice's nostalgia for specific moments in her life; whether those moments be real markers in time or rather just a feeling or sense that is strong enough for her to recall in the future. The challenge that came with this play was to keep Eurydice's sense of identity consistently in the forefront of the design. It needed to be evident that Eurydice was changing as the play goes on, though each cue needed to represent the particular person Eurydice is in that moment; what has changed about her and what has remained the same. For instance, once Eurydice travels to the Underworld, the design shifts to a warped, almost drowsy, tone; Eurydice comes to the realization that she cannot return to the person she was just a moment before, leaving her with a sense of resignation.
